Comfort in the heart of the wilderness
Our cabins sit where few people ever go, on the shores of the Nuuk Fjord, surrounded by mountains, water, and silence. Inside, they're warm, simple, and comfortable, a real roof over your head rather than a tent in the cold. By day, head out to fish, hike, or explore the fjord; by evening, gather around a hot meal and watch the light shift over the water, or the aurora in the winter sky. It's the rare kind of place where you can be genuinely remote and genuinely at ease, all at once.

In winter the fjord falls still and the snow muffles everything, leaving just you, the cabin, and the white silence.

Evenings are for slowing down, good company, a warm glow, and music by candlelight while the Arctic night settles in.
Cabin stays in Greenland, where the Arctic wilderness becomes home
Trade the hotel lobby for a wood-fired cabin at the edge of the fjord. From the sheltered bays of Nuuk Fjord to the calving face of the Eqi Glacier, Raw Arctic connects you with remote cabins and wilderness lodges that put Greenland's raw nature right on your doorstep. Pick the basecamp that fits your trip below, and we will build the guided hikes, fishing, and boat journeys around it.
Qooqqut Cabins, a fjord hideaway near Nuuk
Tucked into a quiet arm of Nuuk Fjord, the Qooqqut cabins are among the easiest wilderness stays to reach from the capital, yet they feel a world away. Warm the cabin with the wood stove, cast a line for Arctic char, and watch for reindeer on the slopes above. It is the classic Greenland cabin stay, remote in spirit but close to home.

Ilimanaq Lodge, history and icebergs on Disko Bay
Set in one of Greenland's oldest settlements on the shores of Disko Bay, Ilimanaq Lodge pairs restored historic houses with modern, glass-fronted cabins facing the water. Drifting icebergs, whales offshore, and the UNESCO-listed Ilulissat Icefjord are all within reach. A refined cabin stay for travelers who want comfort without leaving the wild behind.

Disko Mountain Lodge, basalt peaks and black-sand shores
On Disko Island, where dark basalt mountains rise straight from the sea, this lodge is your gateway to one of Greenland's most dramatic landscapes. Hike volcanic valleys, seek out natural hot springs, and watch whales roll through Disko Bay from the shore. A cabin stay built for travelers chasing scenery you will not find anywhere else in the Arctic.

Icefjord Retreat, sleep beside a UNESCO wonder
Wake to a horizon full of icebergs at the edge of the Ilulissat Icefjord, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most photographed places in Greenland. Spend the day cruising among towering bergs or walking the boardwalk trails, then settle into your cabin as the ice glows under the midnight sun or the northern lights. This is the Greenland cabin stay at its most iconic.

Eqi Glacier Lodge, front-row seats to calving ice
Perched opposite the ever-active Eqi Glacier, this lodge lets you fall asleep to the thunder of calving ice. Comfortable cabins face the glacier directly, with guided hikes and boat trips filling the long Arctic days. For travelers who want a cabin stay in Greenland with untamed nature just across the water, few places compare.

What our guests say:
"Thanks to the experience, dedication, and professionalism of the young people at Raw Arctic, who designed a series of challenging and rewarding experiences for us, we felt that we had truly been given a glimpse of the real Greenland. Not the Greenland of brochures and advertisements, but the authentic one—raw, beautiful, and full of character. We already know that we will return. Next time, with an even more ambitious plan. And there is little doubt that this future Greenland adventure will once again be shared with the team at Raw Arctic."

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about a cabin stay in Greenland, from how you get there to what's provided and what to expect. If you can't find your answer here, feel free to reach out to us anytime.
What exactly is a “custom” tour with Raw Arctic?
Every itinerary is built from scratch around the dates, interests, group size, and budget you give us. A cabin stay usually sits at the heart of a wider trip, so we shape the days around it: a stay focused purely on rest and the sauna, or one packed with fishing, hiking, wildlife, and Northern Lights. Our planners and local guides handle the route, the activities, and the logistics so the trip is unmistakably yours, with no off-the-shelf templates.
How do I get to the cabins?
Our cabins sit deep in the Nuuk Fjord, away from roads and reached only by boat, which is a big part of what makes them feel so remote. We handle the boat transfer from Nuuk as part of your stay, so getting there is simply the scenic first chapter of the trip: sailing past icebergs, mountains, and open water before you arrive at your own quiet corner of the fjord. We'll coordinate the timings with you so everything runs smoothly.
What are the cabins like, and what's provided?
Our cabins are warm, comfortable, and simple, a real roof over your head rather than camping. Expect proper beds, heating, and a cosy base to return to after a day outdoors, with some sites also offering a wood-fired sauna and hot tub right by the water. We'll let you know exactly what each cabin includes when we plan your stay, along with what to bring, so you arrive prepared and can focus on enjoying the wilderness rather than worrying about the details.
Is food included, and how does that work?
We'll talk through catering when we plan your stay, since it depends on the cabin and the kind of trip you want. Options can range from self-catering with a stocked kitchen to guided trips where meals are arranged, and there's something special about cooking a fresh-caught Arctic char over the fire after a day on the fjord. Tell us your preferences and any dietary needs, and we'll make sure the food side is sorted before you arrive.
Can I visit in both summer and winter?
Yes, and each season offers something completely different. Summer brings long, bright days, green tundra, and easy access for fishing, hiking, and boat trips, with the midnight sun stretching your days. Winter wraps the fjord in snow and silence, with the chance of the Northern Lights right from the cabin deck and the sauna feeling even better in the cold. We'll help you choose the timing that best matches what you want from the stay.
We’re arriving by cruise ship — can we fit a tour in our port time?
A cabin stay is really an overnight experience, since the magic is in waking up out in the fjord, so it doesn't suit a few hours of port time. If your schedule allows an overnight, we may be able to arrange it, but for most cruise guests a shorter boat tour or fjord excursion is the better fit for a day call. Send us your itinerary and we'll suggest the option that works best for your time ashore.
What is your cancellation policy?
Because reaching the cabins depends on boat access and Arctic weather, conditions can occasionally affect timings, and safety always comes first. If we need to adjust or cancel a stay for safety or conditions reasons, we'll work with you to rebook or arrange a refund. For guest-initiated cancellations, the specific terms and timelines are set out in your booking confirmation, so we recommend reviewing those when you book. If you have any questions about a particular date, reach out and we'll walk you through it.
