Three days at Qooqqut Cabin, wildlife, hiking, and Greenlandic cuisine in the heart of Nuuk Fjord

Qooqqut Cabin Adventures is an all-inclusive escape into the Nuuk Fjord system: three days at the cabin with two nights' sleep, all meals at Qooqqut Nuan restaurant, and a guided activity menu you build day by day. Each season brings something different, Northern Lights and ice cruises in spring, hikes and fishing under the midnight sun in summer, golden tundra and migrating wildlife in autumn. Pick your activities and set your pace.

What our guests say

"I was in Nuuk for a week and took 2 trips with the Raw Arctic team with 2 different boats : 1 whale watching tour & 1 fish and dish trip. Both were amazing. The boats are top quality. The crews are young reliable and fun local fellows. I saw a humpback whale very close each time. The fishing was fun and easy, we caught so many. The restaurant at the end of the fjord (not the universe ;) - Qooqut - is lovely and they cooked our catch so well. In a nutshell, I highly recommend the experience, it’s worth the money. Cheers !"

Qooqqut Nuan, the only restaurant inside the Nuuk Fjord system, prepares your freshly caught fish on the spot or welcomes you to their full menu.

Every cabin faces directly into the Qooqqut fjord and its iconic mountain, Qajuuta often framed by icebergs and the humpback whales that arrive to feed in summer.

Into the fjord, into the cabin

Your three days at Qooqqut begin with a morning departure from Nuuk by closed Targa boat. The ride into the fjord system passes drifting icebergs, towering mountains, and waterfalls down rugged cliffs.

On arrival, settle into Qooqqut Cabin and meet your hosts. Lunch or an early dinner is at Qooqqut Nuan restaurant. The afternoon is open for a first activity, a soft hike around the cabin, a short fjord cruise, or a fishing session, depending on your group and the conditions.

Build the day around what you love

A full day at the cabin. You pick from the activity menu, fjord cruises, hikes from gentle to advanced, fishing, hunting in season, Northern Lights chasing, village visits to Qoornoq or Kapisillit, and your guide tailors the day to the weather and what your group is up for.

All meals are at Qooqqut Nuan, served fresh and rooted in Greenlandic cuisine, reindeer, freshly caught fish, and Arctic herbs.

Last walk, last cruise, then back to Nuuk

The final morning at the cabin leaves room for one more activity, a short hike, a final fjord cruise, or a slow breakfast with the view.

The boat back to Nuuk in the afternoon is the gentle reset before the city. Most guests arrange a hotel night in Nuuk before flying home.

An extra day in the fjord

If three days at Qooqqut isn't quite enough, you can extend to four days and three nights on request. An extra full activity day, an extra evening at the cabin, and more room to chase the weather window for whatever you most want to do, Northern Lights, a longer hike, a hunting day, or a deeper fjord cruise.

The Qooqqut activity menu

Your days at Qooqqut are built from a seasonal menu, pick up to three activities per day.

  • Spring (March–May): Northern Lights, ice-fjord cruises, ptarmigan hunting, snowshoe hikes, cod fishing.
  • Summer (June–August): midnight-sun hikes, reindeer and seal hunts, arctic char and halibut fishing, fjord cruising, whale and seabird spotting, village visits.
  • Autumn (September–October): autumn-tundra hikes, reindeer / seal / ptarmigan hunting, ice-fjord sailing, fishing for cod, halibut and redfish, whale watching, Northern Lights.
